This Easy Lemon Ginger Elderberry Tea is a perfect simple tea for the cold mornings or when you’re not feeling well. It doesn’t take long to make and only needs a few ingredients.
What are Elderberries?
Elderberries are the fruit of a tree called sambucas. They are full of antioxidants and other vitamins, which is why people make the berries into syrup or, in this case, a tea. Plus, it’s delicious.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tbsp dried elderberries
- Half lemon
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- honey
Instructions:
In a small pot, add the water and berries, turn the heat on high to boil. Squeeze the lemon juice into the water and then plop the actual lemon in if you want. Add the ground ginger, stir.
Let it boil, and once boiled, bring down to a simmer for 15-20 minutes. After that, Let sit off the heat for 5-10 minutes.
Strain your tea into a mug and add honey, however much you like.
That’s all!
Notes:
- This tea is super easy to double or triple. If you do so, you can put it in a jug or mason jar and stick it in the fridge for easier access. It’s good cold too, but you can also warm it up on the stove.
