Easy Steamed Eggs

Easy Steamed Eggs

These Easy Steamed Eggs are perfect for a quick and nutritional breakfast!

Easy Steamed Eggs

I used to hate eating eggs for breakfast. Now, these steamed eggs are my go-to! I’ve never liked the crispy edges fried eggs would get, scrambled eggs were too heavy for the morning, and poached eggs always tended to be runny.

But these steamed eggs are a perfect balance of it all! There are so many different variations you can do. My favorite is adding pickled red onions and sausage. Sometimes, I’ll add a little red cabbage-carrot mixture too.

I put all of my add-ins in the pan before adding the eggs because placing an egg in a hot pan will more likely get crispy.

Let’s get to the recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Egg
  • Sliced pickled red onions
  • Ground Sausage
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions:

Heat up some butter or oil in a pan that fits a cover.

Add your add-in. Grab a small cup of water and set aside. Crack your egg into the pan, break the yolk, and add enough water to cover the bottom of the pan. Add your seasonings, stir slightly, and set the cover on the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes.

If there is still water in the pan, stir the eggs until it all evaporates.

Serve with some toast, pancakes, or these delicious sourdough waffles!

About Me

Welcome to Becky’s Kitchen Corner! I am so happy to see that you are here today. My name is Rebekah, but around here I’m known as Becky. I love to be in the kitchen, cooking and baking up a storm. Though, I don’t like cleaning up the storm as much, ha!

I’m from Pittsburgh and now living in a much sunnier state of North Carolina. I am the youngest of 8 kids and so growing up, I had lots of people to eat up my baked goodies.

In the daytime, I work as a nanny for my sister and brother-in-law to care for my adorable, silly nephew.
