This tortellini bake is super easy and couldn’t scream “quick week meal” fast enough! It’s saucy and cheesy with tomato and a burst of garlic. Takes only a few minutes to prepare and is all pretty basic ingredients.
Each bite is cheesy goodness and can never get enough!
Easy Tortellini Bake
Equipment
- 1 3-4 quart casserole dish You can also use a 9×13 dish
Ingredients
- 1 pound Fresh tortellini
- 1 medium Onion
- 2 small Tomatoes
- 1 pound Ground beef
- 32 oz jar Tomato sauce
- 5 cloves Garlic
- Basil either fresh or dried
- Parsley either fresh or dried
- Salt
- Pepper
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Shredded mozzarella for sprinkling on top
- Fresh Parmesan for sprinkling on top
Instructions
- Set the oven to 400 degrees
- In a medium skillet, add the onion, garlic, tomatoes, seasonings and cook for 2-3 minutes
- Add the ground beef and cook till there is no more pink. Add the tomato sauce, stir and let simmer. Add another dash of garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper
- Cook the fresh tortellini for 2-3 minutes in boiling water, once it’s cooked, drain
- In a 3-4 quart casserole dish pour the tortellini in and then add the meat sauce. Sprinkle some mozzarella cheese over the whole thing
- Cover with tin foil and put in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, take the foil off and cook another 10-15 minutes
Notes
- I have not tested this recipe with frozen tortellini, so do not know how it works
- It’s okay to undercook the tortellini a bit because it will cook more in the oven
- This will also fit in a 9 x 13 dish
