It’s summer, and do you know what that means? It’s time for some of my favorite summer drinks to appear! I don’t have too many, but they all are so good, and could never get sick of them. Though, I don’t just drink them in the summer, cause they’re that good!
Summer can be do hot and all you need is a cold drink. So, here are some of my favorite drinks for the summer!
Raspberry Smoothie:
When I make my smoothies at home, they must be super thick! Thick enough a spoon would almost be better than a straw. But when I buy my smoothies out, I’m not too picky, just so they’re cold and tasty.
With this raspberry smoothie, it’s super thick and only has frozen raspberries and milk(maybe sometimes chocolate too!)! You could make it in a jiffy or make it ahead and eat it later.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup frozen raspberries
- ½ cup milk (I use oat milk, but any kind will work)
- Chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:
Put all of the ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth and thick.
Whipped Coffee:
I’m sure you have heard of this one! It’s not new, but is so good! I don’t normally like instant coffee, but this (and coffee ice cream) are the only exception. The whipped part is so fluffy and creamy. Then added with your favorite kind of milk, perfect summer drink!
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp instant coffee (don’t try normal coffee grinds, it won’t work!)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp water
- Milk (the amount is a preference and will depend on the size of the cup)
- Ice cubes
Instructions:
In a cup, (I like to use an 12oz) fill till about half full; add an ice cube or two.
With a whisk or hand mixer with the whisk attachment, beat till thick and fluffy. Add it to your milk and enjoy.
Lemonade:
Lemonade is and I think will always be a classic summer drink. It’s very refreshing on a hot day. Store-bought is very good and sometimes just hits the spot, but homemade has something special to it. Here’s the recipe I use and never fails!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups lemon juice
- 2 cups sugar
- Water
- Ice
Instructions:
In a half-gallon jug, pour the juice and sugar in, mix till mostly dissolved. To help it dissolve start filling the jug up with water about ¾, keep stirring. I like to taste it at this point to see if it needs more water or not.
Add in the ice, give it a stir, and let sit in the fridge for at least an hour.
If you have any favorites, let me know so I can try them!
