An Apple Crisp Recipe Review

Apple Crisp is a staple around here. It doesn’t matter the season, we’ll eat it any time! But, when you look up a recipe for apple crisp, there are so many! So, how can you pick? Today, I will share the best apple crisp recipe I’ve found by Sally’s Baking Addiction. She has some of the best, easy recipes and is usually my go-to because I know it’ll turn out delicious!

Here is the recipe for you: https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/apple-crisp/

I’ve made this recipe multiple times because it is that good! It has all the essential apple crisp ingredients plus more:

  • Apples
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar
  • Oats

One great thing about apple crisp is that it’s so easy to make diet changes. If gluten-free, you can use gluten-free oats. Or, if you’re watching sugars, you can use different sweeteners!

This crisp has a perfect amount of apples to topping. I did add about 1-1.5 cups more oatmeal than what is called for, but that’s because I prefer an oatmeal topping versus a sugary crumble one.

Making the actual crisp was straightforward and easy! Sometimes reading recipes are kind of hard and confusing, but not this one. The hardest part of of this recipe is waiting for it to cool after it finishes baking. The smell of cinnamon and apples fills the whole house, but it’s still too hot to dish out.

Once it’s cool enough to eat, grab a bowlful of the cinnamon-y and sweet apple crisp! Pair with some vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!

So, if you’re looking for an apple crisp recipe, this is the one! You won’t regret it!

Some things I did differently:

  • I added an extra 1-1.5 cups of oats
  • I added some butter chunks on top of the apples, then covered with the oat mixture
  • Add a sprinkle of salt on top
  • I didn’t make the caramel sauce she makes for this recipe, but the recipe is still super delicious without it!

About Me

Welcome to Becky’s Kitchen Corner! I am so happy to see that you are here today. My name is Rebekah, but around here I’m known as Becky. I love to be in the kitchen, cooking and baking up a storm. Though, I don’t like cleaning up the storm as much, ha!

I’m from Pittsburgh and now living in a much sunnier state of North Carolina. I am the youngest of 8 kids and so growing up, I had lots of people to eat up my baked goodies.

In the daytime, I work as a nanny for my sister and brother-in-law to care for my adorable, silly nephew.
