My Favorite Things (Fall Edition)

Each season there is always a list of favorites. Today, I will share some of my fall favorites with you!

  1. Fall weather

When a season changes, so does the weather. After the hot and humid summer in North Carolina, it’s always nice to have a cool breeze and the smell of the crisp air. To be able to take a walk in the cool morning breeze, where the sun feels nice.

  1. Fall decorations

When it starts to cool down, people start putting out their fall decorations—pumpkins everywhere, orange and red wreaths hanging on the door, and fall-themed porches throughout the neighborhood. I usually have things out, but I didn’t get to it this year (though, I guess I still do have time!). I love to look on Etsy, see what people are making.

  1. Apples

Sure, technically, you can get apples any time of the year. But there’s something about when fall hits, so do the apples. I love pretty much apples in anything. The crisps, the muffins, the pies, and the homemade apple sauce! I love apples not just because of flavor, but you can make SO many different things with them! There are also so many varieties; some are better for making pies than just eating fresh.

  1. Thanksgiving

Part of fall is Thanksgiving. The ham, the squash, Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, friends and family! This year, my whole family is trying to get together so this year will be extra special. Waking up on Thanksgiving and smelling the smell of Thanksgiving. Throughout the holiday season, it’s also always a reminder to be thankful.

  1.  Sweaters, and  PJs and slippers oh my!

When the weather starts to cool down, I love to get out all my cozy things. I don’t love “normal” sweaters, but I have this super fuzzy one that’s between a sweatshirt and sweater. I got it for $0.50 at a yard sale too! Fall nights are just also perfect to cozy up with fuzzy PJs, and with all the warm, soft blankets.

What are some of your favorite things when the season turns the page? Do you have any traditions?

About Me

Welcome to Becky’s Kitchen Corner! I am so happy to see that you are here today. My name is Rebekah, but around here I’m known as Becky. I love to be in the kitchen, cooking and baking up a storm. Though, I don’t like cleaning up the storm as much, ha!

I’m from Pittsburgh and now living in a much sunnier state of North Carolina. I am the youngest of 8 kids and so growing up, I had lots of people to eat up my baked goodies.

In the daytime, I work as a nanny for my sister and brother-in-law to care for my adorable, silly nephew.
