Suggestions for the Perfect Easter Menu

Easter is just around the corner! That means you’re probably looking for something to cook. Here are some great ideas to help you make your Easter dinner menu.

When I cook around this time, I don’t just cook for dinner, but usually a special breakfast too! In the past years, cinnamon rolls have become an annual thing that I do on Easter morning for breakfast.

One of the first times I did it, I also made quiche! It was delicious! But, I had to get up around 5 am for it all to be done and to be ready for church.

So down below are some ideas for breakfasts, lunch/dinner, and dessert!

Breakfast:

Cinnamon Rolls:

I still haven’t found the “perfect” cinnamon roll recipe, one that stands out from all of the others. But most are successful either way. If you have a favorite, be sure to send it my way!

Quiche:

Now, you can eat quiche any time of the year. With any of these foods you can. But there’s something about quiche that tastes better around holidays. Quiche is one of those things you can put anything in it and it will most likely be tasty. Here are some of my favorite add-ins:

  • Bell Peppers
  • Broccoli
  • Bacon
  • Ground Beef
  • More cheese

Here is the best recipe I have found: https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/quiche-recipe/

In that particular recipe, she uses her vegetable oil crust, but I’d recommend looking up her all-butter crust! So much better!

Easter-themed Pancakes:

I’ve made these twice, once in 2016 and then last year (2021). I need to figure out a new method because I am not artistic at all. I do love the idea, so I’m going to keep working on it!

What I did was poured the batter to make the shape. I followed the Easter resurrection egg story. I tried to do each shape with the batter, some worked and others didn’t work so well. But I still love the idea and let me know if you’ll try this!

Dinner:

Ham

Ham is personally my favorite meat for Easter. We usually switch between ham and lamb. I don’t have a recipe for this, but there are tons everywhere, so it’s not hard to find!

Scalloped Potatoes

Scalloped potatoes ( au gratin really), are one of my favorites, especially around Easter! If you don’t know what it is, it’s a thinly sliced potato layered between a cheese sauce. It’s a hit and everyone loves it!

For a long time, I made it in a 9×13 baking dish and it did work. But I’ve found baking it in a cast iron skillet is better because it seems to cook more thoroughly. But either will work!

Roasted Carrots

Roasted veggies are always a nice side dish with a big meal, it’s nice a light. There are lots of combinations of roasted veggies that are delicious! I recently tried a: carrot, zucchini, and onion, and was very good.

One of my favorites though is just plain carrots (though onion would add another level of flavor) with cumin! Simple, but delicious and that’s my favorite!

Dessert:

Trifle

Now, I don’t have a recipe for this, but my mom makes this almost every year! It’s an angel food cake layered between lots of fruit and whipped cream. So light and fluffy, perfect after a heavy dinner.

Chocolate Mousse filled Cream Puffs:

I made this delectable dessert last year for Easter and were gone in an instant! Surprisingly, these are also very light and perfect after a meal. Chocolate doesn’t tend to be very light, but mousse is very light, along with the puff!

Recipe

That is all, I hope these have helped you decide what you’ll make for your Easter dinner! Let me know which you might try or a favorite of yours that isn’t listed above.

About Me

Welcome to Becky’s Kitchen Corner! I am so happy to see that you are here today. My name is Rebekah, but around here I’m known as Becky. I love to be in the kitchen, cooking and baking up a storm. Though, I don’t like cleaning up the storm as much, ha!

I’m from Pittsburgh and now living in a much sunnier state of North Carolina. I am the youngest of 8 kids and so growing up, I had lots of people to eat up my baked goodies.

In the daytime, I work as a nanny for my sister and brother-in-law to care for my adorable, silly nephew.
